Psalm 1

Psalm 1

Psalm 1 contrasts the righteous man with the wicked man. Verse 1 says Blessed or happy is the righteous man and tells us how we can truly be happy and prosperous in this life.

Bought with a Price

1 Cor 6: 20
Most everyone understands what it means to own something. In 1 Corinthians the sixth chapter, Paul says something to those who are considering becoming Christians about ownership. In Cor. 6:20 Paul says ‘For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God’s.’

Fruit of the Spirit

2 Cor. 5:17
Everyone knows that what changes an individual is the gospel of Jesus Christ. All you have to do is look back through the Bible and you see time and time again where you have ordinary people like you and me who were changed by the power of the gospel. What happens is they go from being in darkness to being in light; they go from being an old creature to being a new creature. This new creature thinks, acts and lives differently because they’re no longer living on their fleshly side; they are now living on their spiritual side.

Speaking in Tongues

1 Cor 12: 4-11

If you had the gift of tongues you could speak a language you never learned. Acts 2:6 ‘every man heard them in his own language’. Acts 2:4 ‘began to speak with other tongues’, Acts 2:8 ‘how hear we every man in his own tongue’.
